Most teens enter parenthood unprepared for the stress a new baby brings, and many
experience frustration, resentment, and even anger toward their newborns. The fathers of the children abandon many of these girls and they are faced with a responsibility of raising children while they are still children themselves.

Teenage Care Uganda is a dedicated charity organization working tirelessly to empower teenage mothers and create a brighter future for them and their children in the Busoga Region and across Uganda.

Volunteers like you play a crucial role in helping us achieve our mission. By joining our team, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference, offering support, guidance, and encouragement to young girls who are facing challenging circumstances. Together, we can create a society where every teenage mother has the resources and opportunities to build a successful life.

Requirements for Volunteers:

  1. Compassion and Empathy: We are looking for individuals who genuinely care about the well-being of teenage mothers and their children. Your ability to empathize and understand their experiences is essential in providing the support they need.
  2. Respect and Non-Judgment: It is vital to approach every individual with respect and an open mind. We believe in creating a non-judgmental environment where teenage mothers can feel safe and supported.
  3. Time Commitment: We appreciate any amount of time you can contribute, but we do ask for a minimum commitment of 4 hours per week to ensure continuity and effectiveness in our programs.
  4. Skills and Expertise: While no specific qualifications are required, certain skills and expertise can be beneficial. These may include counseling, mentorship, teaching, healthcare, legal knowledge, fundraising, event planning, or any other relevant experience.
  5. Cultural Sensitivity: Busoga Region and Uganda have diverse cultures and traditions. Volunteers must respect and appreciate the cultural nuances of the communities we work with.
  6. Age Requirement: Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to ensure maturity and professionalism in dealing with sensitive issues.
  7. Background Check: For the safety of our beneficiaries, all volunteers will be required to undergo a background check.
